Choosing a niche and product creation!
Choosing a niche and product creation can be two of the biggest stumbling blocks to a new or even long-time marketer. Many marketers choose to do affiliate marketing because they have difficulty and actually freeze up with the topics of choosing a niche and product creation.
There are ways to overcome these barriers but you (as a marketer) need to get a good grasp on the research process for niche finding and creating a product.
Are you frustrated?
Quite honestly it is difficult to stay focused especially when you don’t know how to write or produce articles, emails, blog posts, etc.
More and more I am learning that if I write naturally (i.e., the way I talk and think) it is much easier to say things. I still need some help with putting the information together. What about you?
So what niche? Or which niche?
There are two schools of thinking on the topic of choosing a niche and product creation. It’s a controversial topic. I am in two minds about it myself. Of course, feeling passionate about a subject you get involved with is a great advantage. Passion is the energy that keeps your business going and moving forward.
However, suppose a subject of your passion is something that not many people are interested in. For example, you have a hobby which is very narrow and which not many other people share – like collecting match boxes. In this case, passion is irrelevant. On the other hand, going into a business just for the money is soul destroying if you have no interest in the niche at all.
It doesn’t matter about being passionate !
First of all, you can become passionate about anything that will help people to resolve their problems. My suggestion why don’t you consider both ideas. I think if your desire is to serve the need of a customer then you can identify a market and become passionate about it.
My answer to the question of what comes first – passion or reason – is this. For small niche marketing, it doesn’t matter too much, since the amount of effort going on setting up and maintaining a small niche site is minimal. I suggest that you have at least some interest and knowledge about the subject. There is no point in choosing a dog niche if you don’t like dogs.
However, if the niche you want to go into is going to be your main source of income for years to come, then think very seriously whether you can see yourself working with this niche in 5 years’ time. In this case passion will be the driving force of your business.
At the same time make sure that the niche you are considering has buyers and good money-making potential. There is no point in spending time and effort pursuing your passion if you cannot pay your bills as a result.
Finding Profitable Niche Markets For Product Creation
One of the most important things you can do is first evaluate and identify niche markets that encompass three major elements:
1) You can easily identify exactly who your audience is.
2) Are there motivated, active buyers in the niche market.
3) Can you get your marketing message across to your audience.
Do not try to find an untapped niche market. There are few of them out there and those that exist would take a lot of work in order to penetrate. Then, you’d have to condition buyers, research angles and test out different campaigns and approaches before you determine what was successful.
Forget about that! It’s always easier to make money in niches that are already proven to be profitable, as a result that is what you need to focus on.
You want to know:
- What people are currently buying
- Where there are any potential market gaps for products you could create
- How much of a demand exists in the market
- What your customer base is most interested in, concerned with, needing help with.
